THE MARGO EASTON
SCHOLARSHIP
Margo Easton founded the Lane Cove Theatre Company in 1995. One of her goals was encouraging and improving theatre skills in the local community. To continue this legacy, LCTC is offering bursaries for people wanting to grow their skills in any area of theatre.
About us Lane Cove Theatre Company is a not-for-profit community theatre company based in the Lane Cove LGA. We have been operating for 26 years currently producing 3 to 4 shows per year including a children’s musical/panto style show. We are not afraid to take on cutting edge/controversial shows (eg The Vagina Monologues, Holding the Man), new works (eg premiere of Vicki, play reading of Churchill’s Galipolli) and revising old favourites (eg She Stoops to Conquer, Streetcar Named Desire). We are an inclusive group who offer something for everyone in our community. Currently we have not got an exclusive theatre base but with some strong muscles and vision we transform a plain hall into a theatre space for each performance. What we are offering Bursaries of up to $1,000 each year will be offered to help cover the costs associated with furthering your theatre studies. This can be in any appropriate area –including (but not limited to) script writing, lighting and sound, acting, directing, set design, production and stage management, theatrical makeup or costume design. Who can apply To be eligible to apply for The Margo Easton Scholarship you will need to be a resident of the Lane Cove LGA or reside within 10km of Lane Cove.
