How can you help? Coffee and burgers

As you know LCTC is a community group so we need your support to keep doing what we love doing. So how can you help?

Jack & Co
We’re grateful to Jack & Co in Northwood for dedicating 20c Tuesday to us. Every Tuesday until the end of May, Jack & Co will donate 20c from every coffee sold on Tuesdays to Lane Cove Theatre Company. So get your Tuesday caffeine fix from Jack & Co!

Grill'd Crows Nest
We’ve been selected to participate in Local Matters at Grill’d Crows Nest this May!

Local Matters is the Grill’d community donation program that sees each Grill’d restaurant donate $500 back into the community every month. The donation is split between 3 local community groups $300 / $100 / $100.

HOW YOU CAN HELP?

We’d love your support in receiving the highest $300 donation! Simply head to Grill’d Crows Nest during May for a burger and pop your Local Matters token in our jar. The group with the most tokens at the end of the month receives the largest donation.

It’s a simple (and delicious) way to show your support!

You’ll find us on a jar at Grill’d Crows Nest, 57 Willoughby Road, Crows Nest.

Our version of Louis Nowra's Cosi staged earlier in the month. LCTC President Lochie Beh said ‘The production was a resounding success. The cast, director and crew all did a fantastic job. Night after night our audience was almost rolling with laughter. It was wonderful to see.’

But don’t take Lochie’s word for it, read this amazing review from Weekend Notes:

Auditions for our upcoming show Holding the Man are coming up on 27 and 28 May so we sat down with director Kathryn Thomas to get the lowdown on the show and what she’s looking for.

1. What is 'Holding the Man' about?
Holding the Man is about an extremely complex 15 year relationship between Tim and John, in which they go through the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. It is honestly one of the most tragic and uniquely beautiful stories I have ever read.

2. Why did you want to direct this show?
I was drawn to direct this show because as a member of the LGBTI community, I find stories like Tim and John's so incredibly important towards creating social change and understanding towards the community. It is also one of the most challenging shows, even just to watch, so I was drawn to the complexity.

3. What parts are you looking to cast?
I am looking for a full cast, which is Tim, John and 4 ensemble members who play multiple roles, like the boys friends and family.

4. What are you looking for in cast members?
With all the casts I have worked with, openness is key. I have a unique directing style, using a lot of psychological exercises and practical work, so being open and prepared for a challenge is essential.

5. Which part of the production process are you most excited about?
It's easy to the say the finished product, but what I'm most excited for is creating a relationship with the cast, forming that bond which often happens over a show, especially one of this nature. Also just seeing what actors do naturally is mesmerising, and maybe my favourite thing as a director.

Book your audition at Brand X in St Leonards by emailing [email protected].
