Io doubt you’ve heard all the talk about the council elections coming up this Saturday 9 September. Last Thursday, In The Cove hosted a ‘Meet the Councillors’ evening. Trent Gardiner and Belinda Korner from the LCTC committee attended the session to see what each councillor had to offer in terms of supporting Lane Cove’s arts community and its need for a local multi-purpose space.

Of the eleven councillors at the session, only two openly supported a multi-purpose space in Lane Cove. Those councillors were Karola Brent (Independent - Central Ward) and Katherine Morris (Independent – Central Ward).

For many years local community groups have been advocating for this critical infrastructure for the Lane Cove community. The upcoming elections are the best opportunity to make your voice heard.

What is important to you?

We believe in social connections, and supporting the arts.  In a time when Lane Cove is seeing unprecedented growth, we believe that social connections are critical.

If infrastructure for the performing arts community is important to you, then check in with the candidates in your ward and understand their position on what is most important to you.

Make your vote count this Saturday 9th September!
