This weekend we present the world premiere of Vicki. We can't wait to share the show with you, so how about you meet the cast?
Laura Bucci - Michelle - the poet
Laura has had a passion for the performing arts since the age of 5 when she started playing the piano. She has completed 8 AMEB piano examinations and has performed in several piano concerts as well as competing in Eisteddfods. At a young age she also began dance lessons and joined the school choir which gave her the opportunity to perform at the Sydney Opera House in the Primary School’s Choral Festival in 2005.
In high school she studied music, dance and drama, with her HSC drama individual performance being nominated for OnSTAGE. Laura continued to expand her skills in performance by completeing a Bachelor of Music degree, majoring in Music Theatre, at the Australian Institute of Music. Her previous show credits include Dr. McCarb’s Independent Surgical Hospital on the Hill (Sydney Fringe Festival), Into the Woods (AIM), Oliver! (BTC) and The Producers (SMS).
Cerise Kofoed - Vicki - the robot
During her time at school, Cerise received weekly Speech and Drama lessons and completed a Certificate in Drama and Performance and a Certificate in Voice and Communication with AMEB examinations. At university, she graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Music (Music Theatre). During her time at college, she performed in Into The Woods directed by Tyran Parke. She played multiple roles including 'Granny', 'The Giant' and 'Snow White'. She also performed as 'Jackie' in The Boys and 'Henry V' in King Henry V, both plays directed by Terry Bader. Outside of university, Cerise performed in the Short & Sweet Festival 2016. For the festival, she played both female leads in the short plays, Chicken Curry and Loop. In 2017, Cerise performed as part of the ensemble for a theatre project called Split Spectrum with Perennial Theatre Company. She also played the 'Hansel & Gretel Witch', as part of a theme park performance in Halloscream 5:Revenge of the Forgotten Funfair at Luna Park. To kick off 2018, Cerise is very excited to play the cute and curious robot for the musical Vicki with Lane Cove Theatre Company.
Lucy Nielson - Val - the scientist
Lucy is a student at the Australian Institute of Music where she studies a Bachelor of Music (Music Theatre). During her high school years, Lucy attended out of school classes at Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) as well as studying both drama and music in her curriculum. She also has a Diploma of Arts (Acting) from where she obtained at Sydney Theatre School. She enjoys reading classic books and plays, and just last year participated in Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible” and Shakespeare’s “As You Like It”. Lucy is excited about being a part of “Vicki” and exploring Val’s character with Shane and Rod. She enjoys working with the cast and crew and hopes to do so again in the near future.
Zach Selmes - John - the artist
Zach is a Sydney-based musician and writer trained in classical, contemporary and musical theatre voice, having studied under West End performer Paul Scott-Williams. Most recently, Zach has studied at the Australian Institute of Music majoring in music theatre.
Notable theatre credits include Charley in Little Triangle’s upcoming Merrily We Roll Along at the Depot Theatre from March 7-24, Roger in Rent (MACMS), Franz/Dennis in Sunday in the Park with George (Little Triangle) and Nick Piazza in Fame (Birdie Productions). He also co-starred in Poisoning Pigeons in the Park, the third show in a three-part cabaret series also starring Andrew O’Keefe, Rob Palmer and Glen Amer (Cabaret in the Day 2016). Other credits include the AIM productions of Into The Woods (Baker), Chicago (Fred Casely, Billy u/s), Urinetown (Hot Blades Harry, Bobby u/s), Lucky Stiff, The Witches of Eastwick and Squabbalogic’s The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Zach has also performed at fundraisers such as Cause Celeb: The Return Season (Actors Benevolent Fund) and Love Is Love for Twenty10 (Stonewall Hotel).This weekend Lane Cove Theatre Company presents the world premiere of the original musical play, Vicki.
